Wellbeing Programmes & Groups

At City of Derry Farm & Equestrian Centre we provide wellbeing programmes for both groups and individuals in a safe and relaxed environment.

We nurture positive wellbeing, practical skills and coping strategies through the use of horses in the great outdoors. Our programmes are designed to focus on the connection with self, connection with horse and a sense of purpose.   The stables is a safe secure environment surrounded by 30 acres of lush green countryside.

VISITORS
​​Want to enjoy a unique experience with family or friends? City of Derry Equestrian Centre offers customised horse riding activities to suit all abilities and can create a bespoke package just for you. Don’t worry if you’ve never been on a horse. Our animals are very sweet-natured and are used to both beginners and more experienced riders, and there’ll always be a trained instructor nearby. We also have activities for those who prefer to keep their feet on the ground.

PONY CLUB
​Join our Pony Club and you’ll enjoy fun, friendship, outdoor activities, away days and much more. Established 85 years ago, The Pony Club is an international youth organisation with over 110,000 members worldwide. It’s been the starting point for a wide range of equestrian athletes, medal winners and anyone interested in riding and horse care, so is ideal for developing your skills and learning about horses.
No pony? No problem. As a Pony Club centre, we hire our horses as required, so everyone can take part. Membership is open to anyone up to the age of 25.

GROUP LESSONS
​​Group lessons are a great way to meet like-minded people and make new friends as you develop your equestrian skills. Lessons can include the various equestrian disciplines such as show jumping, dressage and cross country, which all help to strengthen the bond between horse and rider, while honing your abilities.

GROUPS & ORGANISATIONS
Horse riding is the perfect activity for a group away day with a difference. Each session can be customised using a wide range of tried and tested activities which will develop qualities such as leadership and teamwork. We cater for all group sizes and levels of ability.
